Shen believes in empowering her class with education about the benefits of each pose (asana) which are linked together in a flow called Vinyasa. Principles are taken from Ashtanga, Iyengar and Hatha yoga to give a gentle but dynamic style linking breath to control each movement. These exercises are used to correct, realign and strengthen the core (abdominals) which in turn safeguards the spine. Yoga is an excellent physiotherapy! It corrects postural imbalances, loosens hips, legs and back, reduces the risk of injury and gives you superb core strength.
Everyone is encouraged to progress at their own pace as alternatives are given. Breath control and meditation are an integral part of the classes. At the end you will leave feeling amazingly relaxed and energized at the same time!
